Our
current health status:
People worldwide are experiencing a ‘major health crisis’.
With all the advances in technological break throughs as well as the advances
in modern (allopathic) medicine, whereby there is now a drug for virtually every
ale known to man, why is it that the state of our health & wellbeing is truly
suffering? World stats show a huge increase in the number of people experiencing
major illness & disease, diseases that were once rare or unheard of are now
becoming wide spread amongst both the young & old.
Consider the following
facts:
Fact:
About 270,000 people in Australia have cancer,
a figure projected to increase to exceed 350,000
by 2011.
Fact:
The main reasons for the greater cancer burden
of affluent societies are the earlier onset
of the tobacco epidemic, the earlier exposure
to occupational carcinogens, and the Western
nutrition and lifestyle.
Fact:
By 2020 there will be a 50% increase in the number
of people diagnosed with cancer worldwide unless
steps are taken now.
Fact:
Australia, the UK and the US are among the three
fattest nations in the world.
Between 1980 and 2000, obesity in Australian
men rose by 80 percent, while the rate among
women rose 2½ times. Experts estimate
25 per cent of children and young people are
overweight or obese, taking the number to about
1.5 million.
Fact:
Children as young as three are suffering chronic
obesity in what experts say is an epidemic.
Fact:
Diabetes is striking growing numbers of children
around the world, the growing threat of childhood
diabetes is part of a wider diabetes epidemic
which experts say could affect close to 400
million people worldwide by 2025.
Fact:
Many children born from 2000 onwards will die
before their parents.
Fact:
Prescriptions of fluoxetine (antidepressants)
ballooned from about 2.5 million in 1988 to more
than 33 million in 2002.
Now consider these facts:
People living in Okinawa Japan; Symi people from
the Greek Ilses; Hunza people from the Himalayan
mountains in Pakistan; Bama people in China &
Italians in Campodimele live long, healthy life’s
so much so that living past 100 is not uncommon.
In these regions many centenarians are healthy
& lead active lives often having boundless
amounts of energy. They generally live a life
full of energy & free from
pain & disease.
Eskimos are another people that have been observed
by medical teamss for many decades and found
to be totally free
of cancer.
So what is it that all these people have in
common? They are all consuming a diet that
is in line with their biochemical
requirements, they are all physically active,
they have not been exposed to occupational carcinogens,
nor do they endure the typically Western stressful,
chaotic lifestyle.
