Nutrition
& Physical Degeneration (Weston. A. Price):
Weston. A. Price embarked upon a journey
and made certain discoveries many years ago that are as important
now to our health &
well being as they were when he first discovered them more
than sixty years ago.
Price a dentist, was troubled
by the state of the majority of his patients,
their teeth were all too often in a state of
decay
& they were plagued with many other chronic/degenerative
conditions such as: intestinal complaints; osteoporosis;
arthritis; diabetes & chronic fatigue. Though it was
in his younger patients that Price noticed a considerable
decline in their health & wellbeing compared to that
of their parents. It was his younger patients that gave him
most cause for concern, as many of them suffered from an
array of health problems, behavioural problems as well as
facial deformities & tooth decay.
To verify his assumptions &
to conclude his thoughts, Price travelled to isolated parts
of the world that had no contact with modern civilization,
these remote pockets of humanity were untouched by modern
inventions.
During his travels Price visited
remote Swiss villagers; Eskimos; Indian tribes
in Canada & the Florida Everglades; Southsea
Islanders; Australian Aborigines; Maoris from
New Zealand; African tribesman & Amazonian
Indians. Although there diets truly varied
from one group to the next, one area of commonality
amongst all these remote civilizations that
Price studied was that disease was almost completely
absent, and what is even more interesting is
that: childhood illnesses were virtually nonexistent
even amongst those living in physical environments
that were extremely harsh. In fact many of
these traditional people following their traditional
diets often exhibited a high degree of physical
perfection & optimum health.
Though as soon a person from
one of these remote civilizations abandoned
their traditional diet for foodstuffs such
as: sugar, refined grains, canned foods, pasteurized
milk and devitalized fats and oils, foods that
were referred to by Price as “Displacing
foods of modern commerce”. It was in
these people that Price discovered rampant
tooth decay, infectious illness and degenerative
conditions. Though as soon as these people
went back to following their traditional diet
there health & wellbeing improved once
again.
Price’s discoveries all
those years ago have taught us that for people
to maintain & sustain perfect health, they
need to consume a diet rich in whole natural
nourishing foods. This means no manmade chemically
altered foods; no growth hormones; no steroids;
no MSG; no genetically modified ingredients;
no pesticides
& no junk foods.
