The only true solution is customised nutrition whereby an individuals unique biochemical requirements are analysed & addressed.

So what is biochemical individuality?  Biochemical Individuality in a nutshell is “customised nutrition”, it is based upon the premise that we are all unique, and that each one of us requires a unique individualised fuel mixture.  It is therefore suggested that there is no single diet in it’s entirety that is capable of addressing the universal needs of each & every one of us.

Some people require a diet rich in carbohydrates, whilst others require a diet rich in protein & fats, though others require a diet that is balanced somewhere between the two.

How does biochemical individuality differ from an allopathic approach to dietetics/nutrition or natural medicine?

An allopathic approach prescribes a given diet or supplement or medication for a particular health state whereas metabolic typing recognises that the action of a particular food or nutrient differs from individual to individual based upon their unique biochemistry for this reason metabolic typing works to address the underlying balance of an individuals fundamental homeostatic control systems & as a result builds optimal health as opposed to just a band aid approach to attempt to treat disease.

Everyone is unique & has their own, unique bio chemical requirements this is also true from a nutritional perspective.  There is no magic one size fits all solution, however with regards to allopathic nutrition this single one size fits all paradigm is adopted.  For instance anyone with a hereditary predisposition for osteoporosis or if someone presents with biochemical markers which clarify osteoporosis then this person would be prescribed  calcium supplementation as part of their treatment regime.  Whereas with biochemical individuality a person’s unique & specific metabolic needs are first identified in order to ascertain which foods & supplements are required to meet their individual biochemical needs in order to supply them with the correct fuel source to ensure they are able to restore & maintain balance. 

From a metabolic typing perspective calcium supplementation would not be appropriate for everyone in fact calcium supplementation would actually do nothing for some people, be beneficial for some people and be harmful to others & as such a person’s unique biochemical individuality dictates a person’s specific nutritional needs.
